He just toured Australia as the music director of A STATE OF GRACE, the music of Jeff & Tim Buckley; Martha Wainwright shared the stage with Gary. He consulted and played guitar in the movie, GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY (Tribeca Film/Focus World/Universal). Tony Award winner Frank Wood plays Gary in the film. He shared a GRAMMY nomination with Joan Osborne for co-writing the song Spider Web. ROLLING STONE says Gary is one of the best and most original guitarists in America...a modern guitar miracle. A writer/musician/performer of amazing breadth and diversity, Gary has collaborated and recorded with an array of artists from different cultures, including Russia, Cuba, Israel, China, India, Australia, Hungary, France, Spain, and Africa. In 2014, Gary received the Ambassador's Award for Cultural Diplomacy from the US Consul General of Milan, and was invited to play concerts for disadvantaged children in Mexico City as part of the US Embassy's Music Outreach Program.
